United Airlines
United is an American airline, the third-largest globally, and operates domestic and international services. It was formed on March 28, 1931, by United Aircraft and Transport Corporation (UATC), a holding company for its airline subsidiaries. UATC was a merger of Boeing Air Transport and Pratt & Whitney.
Independent carriers run regional routes under the United Express brand. In October 2010, UAL changed its name to United Continental Holdings and, in 2011, merged with Continental Airlines
Boeing 737 NG
The Boeing 737 Next Generation (NG) is an American twin-engine, narrowbody, short to medium-range jet airliner. The third generation of the B737 family includes the -600, -700, -800, -900ER and the BBJ (Boeing Business Jet). It first flew on February 9, 1997, and entered service in December 1997 with Southwest Airlines (737-700).
Enhancements over previous models include a new wing, larger area and length, improved engines, higher fuel capacity, a glass cockpit and a new interior. In addition, performance and capability upgrades are extended range, higher seating capacity, and increased maximum takeoff weight (MTOW).
The B737 series is the best-selling jet airliner in history, and the -800 variant is the most widely used narrowbody aircraft.
The 737 has a flight crew of two pilots and typically seats 123 (-600), 140 (-700), 175 (-800) and 177 (-900ER). It uses two CFM International CFM56-7 high bypass turbofans, one pylon mounted under each wing.
