Boeing 757

The B757 is an American narrow-body, twin-engine airliner designed and built alongside the wide-body 767 for short to medium-range flights.

The aircraft had its maiden flight on February 19, 1982, and the first production variant, the 757-200, entered service with Eastern Airlines in January 1983. The 757-200 is available in freighter or passenger-freighter combi models, and military derivatives include the C-32 transport.

The extended version, the 757-300, the longest narrow-body twinjet, began operations in 1999.

Production of the 757 ended in 2004, with a total of 1,050 airframes of all variants completed.

The cockpit crew consists of two pilots, and the passenger cabin can accommodate up to 295 passengers, depending on the variant.

The aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce RB211 or Pratt & Whitney PW2000 series turbofan engines, with one engine pylon mounted on each wing.
