North American Aviation F-86 Sabre.
The North American Aviation F-86 Sabre is an American, single-seat, single-engine fighter and fighter bomber. The first flight occurred on October 1, 1947, entering service in 1949. The FJ-2/-3 Fury was a carrier-capable naval variant.
The F-86 saw combat during the Korean War, the Taiwan Strait Crisis, the Indo-Pakistani Wars and the Portuguese in the Guinea-Bissau War of Independence.
9,860 F-86 Sabre/FJ Fury were manufactured in the United States, Japan, and Italy, with modified variants in Canada and Australia. The USAF and ANG retired their last Sabres in 1970.
All variants except for the -H used the General Electric J47 series axial flow turbojet. The -H variant used the more powerful General Electric J73-GE-3 with an afterburner.
The armament consisted of six machine guns in the fuselage nose; the F-86H had four cannons. In addition, four external hardpoints carry up to 2,400 kg (5,300 lb) of payload.
