Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15
The MiG-15bis (NATO reporting name “Fagot B”) is a Russian single-seat, single-engine jet fighter that entered service in early 1950. An improved variant of the Mig-15 with a more powerful engine, strengthened air-frame, improved cannon, increased fuel capacity and avionics. Some had under-wing hard points. The MiG-15 design used technology taken from Germany at the end of World War II and is one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters capable of high transonic speeds. It has served in the air forces of over 40 countries and outclassed NATO aircraft during the Korean War. The USSR built around 12,000 MiG-15s. Czechoslovakia built them as the S-102 and S-103 and Poland as the Lim-1 and Lim-2. Two-seat variants: SB Lim-1 and SB Lim-2, China only manufactured the MiG-15UTI as the Shenyang TF-2.The MiG-15bis used a single Klimov VK-1 centrifugal flow turbojet. The armament consisted of three cannons in the lower fuselage. Some MiG-15 bis had two under-wing pylons able to carry 100 kg (220 lb) of stores.
