Deutsche Lufthansa is the flag carrier and largest airline of Germany, founded on January 6, 1953, as Aktiengesellschaft für Luftverkehrsbedarf (Luftag). Acquired the name and logo of Deutsche Lufthansa on August 6, 1954, and commenced operations on April 1, 1955. The airline’s name comes from the German words Luft, meaning “air”, and Hansa for the Hanseatic League. Airbus A310

The Airbus A310 is a European wide-bodied, twin-engine jet airliner. It first flew on April 3, 1982, and entered service in April 1983 (Swissair). Based on the A300, it has a shorter fuselage, smaller wings, and tailplanes.

Available in two basic variants: the medium-range -200 and the longer-range -300. In addition, a military variant, the A310 MTT (Multi-Role Tanker Transport), is built on the A310-300.

The cockpit crew consists of two pilots and the passenger cabin typically seats 220 in two classes or 237 (-200) and 243 (-300) in a single class, depending on the configuration.

It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW4000, JT9D, or General Electric CF6 high-bypass axial-flow turbofan engines, pylon-mounted one under each wing.
