Cathay Pacific Airways is Hong Kong’s flag carrier airline, founded in September 1946 by Australian Sydney H. de Kantzow and American Roy C. Farrell. The airline operates both international passenger and cargo services. Subsidiary airlines of Cathay Pacific include Cathay Pacific Cargo, Cathay Dragon, and the all-cargo airline Air Hong Kong. Airbus A350 XWB

The A350 XWB (Xtra-Wide-Body) is a European family of long-range, twin-engine, wide-body jet airliners. The maiden flight occurred on June 14, 2013. The A350-900 entered service with Qatar Airlines on January 15, 2015, and the longer A350-1000 entered service with the same airline on February 24, 2018.

The A350 airframe was Airbus’s first to be made primarily of carbon fibre composites; other materials include aluminium alloys, titanium, and steel. The composite structure enables higher cabin pressure and humidity while incurring lower maintenance costs.

The cockpit crew consists of two pilots, and the passenger cabin typically seats 315 (-900) and 369 (-1000) in two classes that are up to ten abreast. It is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB high-bypass axial-flow turbofan engines, mounted on pylons under each wing.
