Emirates is an airline based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which is wholly owned by the government of Dubai’s Investment Corporation. It was formed on March 25, 1985, and commenced operations on October 25, 1985.

Airbus A350 XWB

The A350 XWB (Xtra-Wide-Body) is a European family of long-range, twin-engine, wide-body jet airliners. The maiden flight occurred on June 14, 2013. The A350-900 entered service with Qatar Airlines on January 15, 2015, and the longer A350-1000 entered service with the same airline on February 24, 2018.

The A350 airframe was Airbus’s first to be made primarily of carbon fibre composites; other materials include aluminium alloys, titanium, and steel. The composite structure allows for higher cabin pressure and humidity with lower maintenance costs.

The flight crew consists of two pilots, and the passenger cabin typically seats 315 (-900) and 369 (-1000) in two classes up to ten abreast. It is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent XWB high bypass axial-flow turbofan engines, pylon mounted, one under each wing.
