Deutsche Lufthansa
Deutsche Lufthansa is Germany’s flag-carrying and largest airline, founded on January 6, 1953, as Aktiengesellschaft für Luftverkehrsbedarf (Luftag), acquired the name and logo of Deutsche Lufthansa on August 6, 1954. The name comes from the German words Luft, meaning ” air, ” and Hansa for the Hanseatic League. Subsidiary airlines are Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and Germanwings.
Airbus A321
The Airbus A321, a short to the medium-range, narrow-bodied, twin-engine jet airliner, is the second and largest of the A320 family, which includes the A318, A319, A320, A321, and ACJ business jet. The maiden flight occurred on March 11, 1993, entering service in January 1994 with Lufthansa.
It varies from the A320, with a lengthened fuselage of 4.27 m (14 ft). Manufactured in two variants: the A321-100, with approximately 90 built, and the heavier, longer rang A320-200. In December 2010, Airbus launched the A321neo (new engine option) with more efficient engines, airframe improvements and large sharklets.
The flight crew consists of two pilots, and the passenger cabin typically seats 185 (A321 NEO: 206) in two classes or 220 (A321Neo: 240 in a single class.
The A321 is powered by two CFM International CFM56 or International Aero Engines (IAE) V2500 high bypass turbofan engines; pylon mounted one under each wing. In addition, the A321neo uses the Pratt & Whitney PW1000G or CFM International LEAP engines with lower maintenance costs and about 15% better fuel economy.
