Hobby Master 1/72 Air Power Series HA4329 is a 1/72 scale diecast model of the North American Aviation F-86F Sabre, Imperial Iranian Air Forces “Golden Crown Aerobatic Team” flown by Major Nader Jahanbani, 1961.

The Golden Crown

The Golden Crown was Iran’s first national aerobatics display team, part of the 1st Fighter Interceptor Squadron of the Imperial Iranian Air Force. Founded in 1958 by fighter pilot Nader Jahanbani with the blessing of the Shah, the Golden Crown was disbanded following the Iranian Revolution in 1979.

North American Aviation F-86 Sabre.

The North American Aviation F-86 Sabre is an American single-seat, single-engine fighter and fighter bomber, which first flew on October 1, 1947, before entering service in 1949. A naval variant, the FJ-2/-3 Fury, was carrier-capable. The F-86 Sabre saw significant combat in several conflicts, including the Korean War, the Taiwan Strait Crisis, the Indo-Pakistani Wars, and the Portuguese Guinea-Bissau War of Independence.

Over 9,860 F-86 Sabre and FJ Fury aircraft were manufactured in the United States, Japan, and Italy, with some modified variants produced in Canada and Australia. The last operational Sabres were retired by the USAF and ANG in 1970.

Most F-86 variants, except for the -H, were powered by the General Electric J47 axial flow turbojet. The -H variant used the more powerful General Electric J73-GE-3 turbojet, featuring an afterburner.
The F-86’s armament consisted of six machine guns located in the fuselage nose, while the F-86H variant had four cannons. Additionally, it had four external hardpoints capable of carrying up to 2,400 kg (5,300 lb) of payload.
