Gemini Jets Gemini200 G2USC918 – 1/200 Scale Gulfstream C-37B, USCG
Gemini Jets diecast model G2USC918 replicates in 1/200 scale the Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation C-37B, US military designation for the G550, in the United States Coast Guard (USCG) paint scheme.
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is an American company, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, that manufactures and services business jets. The company that became Gulfstream Aerospace Corp started in the late 1950s when Grumman developed the Grumman Gulfstream I (G-I), twin-turboprop business aircraft.
The Gulfstream G550 (GV-SP) is an American twin-engined monoplane business jet; the first delivery occurred on December 27, 2012. It is based on the Gulfstream V with upgraded, more fuel-efficient engines and improved aerodynamics, reducing drag. Increasing range, maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) and takeoff performance. Visible changes include an extra pair of windows, and the entry door moved 0.61 m (2 ft) forward, increasing usable cabin length. Adapted for various military uses as the C-37B: VIP transport, G550 CAEW/E-550A: Airborne Early Warning (AEW) and MC-55A Peregrine: SIGINT and ELINT. The final commercial airframe delivery will occur in 2021, but the G550 will remain in limited production for military and government orders.
Airframe construction is of metal; the fuselage is a semi-monocoque structure with a glass cockpit. The cantilevered wings are low mounted, sweep back, and winglets. The “T” tail is also cantilevered and swept-back. A tricycle type retractable undercarriage is used with the primary units mounted in the wing, retracting inwards into the wing roots, nose wheel retracts forward into the fuselage. The G550 has two pilots and a passenger cabin that seats up to 18 passengers.
It uses two Rolls-Royce BR710 turbofan engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage, one externally on each side. The G550 has a high cruise speed of 924 km/h (574 mph), a long-range cruise speed of 851 km/h (529 mph), a service ceiling of 16,000 m (51,000 ft) and a maximum range of 12,500 km (7,770 mi).
