British Airways
British Airways (BA), the flag carrier airline of the United Kingdom, was formed in March 1974 with the merger of the nationalised British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC), British European Airways (BEA) and the two regional airlines, Cambrian Airways and Northeast Airlines. The British government privatised the airline in February 1987.
Boeing 767
The B767 is an American wide-body, twin-engine long-haul monoplane jet airliner, Boeing’s first wide-body twinjet. The maiden flight took place on September 26, 1981, with the first variant, the 767-200, entering service on September 8, 1982, with United Airlines. Next, the extended-range 767-200ER in 1984, the 767-300 in 1986, the 767-300ER in 1988, the 767-300F freighter version in 1995 and the further stretched 767-400ER in 2000.
It has a flight crew of two pilots and, depending on the model can seat up to 375 passengers depending on layout and variant. It uses two Rolls-Royce RB211 or Pratt & Whitney JT9D series high bypass turbofans, pylon mounted one under each wing. Production ended in 2004, with 1,050 airframes of all variants completed.
