NG Models NG35016
NG Models NG35016 is a 1/400 scale diecast model of the Lockheed L-1011-500 TriStar (FAA certification: L-1011-385-3) registration JY-AGC in Alia – The Royal Jordanian Airline livery, circa the early 1980s.
Alia – The Royal Jordanian Airline
Alia—The Royal Jordanian Airline is Jordan’s flag carrier airline. Established by royal decree of the late King Hussein on December 9, 1963, it was named Alia. Renamed Royal Jordanian Airlines in 1986, and privatised in 2007.
The L-1011 TriStar is an American medium—to long-range, wide-body trijet airliner that first flew on November 16, 1970, and entered service with Eastern Airlines in April 1972. The British Royal Air Force operated nine of these aircraft, designated as K.1, KC.1, and C.2.
Engine development issues and Rolls-Royce’s financial troubles delayed the TriStar’s entry into service by two years, allowing the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 to gain a competitive advantage. Production of the TriStar ended in 1984, with 250 airframes built.
The TriStar utilised advanced technology for its time, including becoming the first wide-body airliner certified for blind autoland.
The cabin crew consists of two pilots and a flight engineer, and depending on the variant, the passenger cabin can accommodate up to 300 passengers.
The aircraft is powered by three Rolls-Royce high-bypass axial-flow turbofan engines—one pylon-mounted under each wing and the third at the rear of the fuselage. Airflow is through an S-duct embedded in the tail and upper fuselage.
Pay in 4 is available on qualifying purchases from $30.00 to $1,500.00. Available to PayPal account holders who meet eligibility criteria.
