NG Models NG35016 is a 1/400 scale diecast model of the Lockheed L-1011-1 TriStar, registration N140SC, named Stargazer. It features a Pegasus small-lift launch vehicle mounted under the fuselage of Northrop Grumman.

Stargazer

The Stargazer, a Lockheed L-1011-1 TriStar, serves as the launch vehicle for the Pegasus, an air-launched multistage rocket developed by Orbital Sciences Corporation (OSC). Northrop Grumman acquired OSC in 2018. Modified for the task in 1994, the Stargazer is currently the only L-1011 airframe that remains airworthy.

Lockheed L-1011 TriStar

The L-1011 TriStar is an American medium—to long-range, wide-body trijet airliner that first flew on November 16, 1970, and entered service with Eastern Airlines in April 1972. The British Royal Air Force operated nine of these aircraft, designated as K.1, KC.1, and C.2.

Engine development issues and Rolls-Royce’s financial troubles delayed the TriStar’s entry into service by two years, allowing the McDonnell Douglas DC-10 to gain a competitive advantage. Production of the TriStar ended in 1984, with 250 airframes built.

The TriStar utilised advanced technology for its time, including becoming the first wide-body airliner certified for blind autoland.

The cockpit crew consists of two pilots and a flight engineer, and depending on the variant, the passenger cabin can accommodate up to 300 passengers.

The aircraft is powered by three Rolls-Royce high-bypass axial-flow turbofan engines—one pylon-mounted under each wing and the third at the rear of the fuselage. Airflow for the third engine is through an S-duct embedded in the tail and upper fuselage.

Warning: Choking Hazard! Not suitable for children under 14 years of age or individuals who tend to place inedible objects in their mouths. Adult collectable - designed for static display - Not a toy.
