NG Models NG08017 is a 1/200 scale diecast model of the B737-8FE (-FE: Boeing’s customer code for Virgin Blue/Virgin Australia), registration VH-VOO, named “Peaceful Bay” in Virgin Australia livery.

Virgin Australia Airlines

Virgin Australia Airlines is Australia’s second-largest airline and operates domestic and international services. It was founded by Richard Branson and Brett Godfrey as Virgin Blue in November 1999. The airline only operated domestic routes, as Singapore Airlines held the ‘Virgin’ brand rights on International routes. In 2004, the airline established V Australia to serve Australia-US transpacific services. Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue, and V Australia amalgamated on May 4, 2011, to form Virgin Australia following an agreement with Singapore Airlines.

Boeing B737 NG

The Boeing B737 Next Generation (NG) is an American twin-engine, narrowbody, short to medium-range jet airliner. The third generation of the B737 family encompasses the -600, -700, -800, -900ER and the BBJ (Boeing Business Jet). The B737 series is the best-selling jet airliner in history, and the -800 variant, the most widely used narrowbody aircraft worldwide, entered service in 1998 with Hapag-Lloyd Flug.

Improvements over previous models include a new wing larger in area and longer in span, improved engines, higher fuel capacity, a glass cockpit, and a contemporary interior. In addition, performance and capability upgrades include extended range, higher seating capacity, and increased maximum takeoff weight (MTOW).

The cockpit crew consists of two pilots, and the passenger cabin typically seats 110 and 210 passengers, depending on the model.

It is powered by two CFM International LEAP high-bypass turbofan axial flow engines, pylon mounted one under each wing.
