Gemini Jets G2UAL1160 Gemini200
Gemini Jets Gemini200 series G2UAL1160 is a 1/200 scale diecast model of the Boeing 747 SP-21 (-21 is Boeing’s customer code for Pan American-Grace Airways), registration N145UA, in United Airlines “Battleship Grey” livery, circa the early 1990s.
United Airlines
United Airlines is an American airline and the world’s third-largest. It operates domestic and international services. Formed on March 28, 1931, by United Aircraft and Transport Corporation (UATC) as a holding company for its airline subsidiaries. UATC was the result of a merger between Boeing Air Transport and Pratt & Whitney.
The Boeing 747SP (Special Performance) is an American wide-body, four-engine jet airliner. It is a shortened version of the Boeing 747-100 with an extended range. It was the longest-range airliner until the B747-400 entered service in 1989.
Designed to compete with the DC-10 and L-1011 trijet, it first flew on July 4, 1975, and entered service with Pan Am in 1976. The 747-SP is 14 m (47 ft) shorter than the B747-100, has enlarged vertical and horizontal tailplanes, and has simplified wing flaps. One airframe received modification for the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) mission.
The SP has a cockpit crew of two pilots and a flight engineer. Depending on the layout, the passenger cabin can seat up to 400 people. The B747SP uses four pylon-mounted Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7 or Rolls-Royce RB211-524 high-bypass turbofan engines, two under each wing.
