Aviation72 AV7225004 replicates in 1/72 scale diecast the Scottish Aviation Bulldog Model 128 (export model for RHKAAF, two built) serial number HKG-6 in the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force (RHKAAF) colour scheme.
Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force
The Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force (RHKAAF) was formed in 1949 as part of the Hong Kong Defence Force. The unit disbanded on March 31, 1993, in preparations for the transfer of Hong Kong’s sovereignty to the People’s Republic of China.
The Scottish Aviation Bulldog is a British single-engine, two-seat training aircraft with a side-by-side seating configuration. It is a military version of the Beagle B.121 Pup, which Beagle Aircraft designed as the B.125 Bulldog.
Beagle Aircraft ceased trading before production of the Bulldog began, leading to the transfer of production rights to Scottish Aviation and subsequently to British Aerospace. The aircraft had its first flight on May 19, 1969, and entered service with the Swedish Air Force in 1971.
The Royal Air Force operated the Bulldog until 2001, and the aircraft was exported to several other countries. Before production ended in 1982, 328 airframes were constructed.
The Bulldog is powered by a single Lycoming IO-360 four-cylinder, air-cooled, horizontally-opposed piston engine, which drives a two-bladed Hartzell constant-speed propeller.
