Aero Classics AC411049

Aero Classics AC411049 is a 1/400 scale diecast model of the Boeing 727-2B7 (-B7 is Boeing’s customer code for Allegheny Airlines/US Air/US Airways) registration N770AT in American Trans Air (ATA) “Palm Tree” livery, circa the late 1990s.

American Trans Air ATA

American Trans Air was a low-cost airline that operated international and domestic scheduled and charter services. It was established in February 1973 as Ambassadair Travel Club, changed its name to American Trans Air in 1981, and changed its brand to ATA Airlines in 2003 to avoid confusion with AirTran Airways. Due to financial difficulties, the airline ceased operations on April 2, 2008.

Boeing 727

The B727 is an American mid-size, narrow-body, three-engine jet airliner. It first flew (727-100) in February 1963 and entered service with Eastern Air Lines in February 1964. The 727-100 and stretched 727-200 were the main variants; an improved model, the 727-200 Advanced, introduced in 1970, had more powerful engines, increased fuel capacity, and MTOW. It was designated as the C-22 by the USAF.

Designed to service smaller airports unsuitable for the Boeing 707, it was Boeing’s first jetliner with all-powered flight controls, triple-slotted flaps, and an auxiliary power unit (APU). One thousand eight hundred thirty-two airframes were built before production ended in 1984; it is the first commercial aircraft to exceed 1,000 sales.

The flight crew consists of two pilots, a flight engineer, and the passenger cabin seats up to 125, six abreast in the -100 and 134 in the -200.

It uses three Pratt & Whitney JT8D low-bypass turbofan engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage, externally on each side and a third internally, fed via a dorsal air intake through an “S-duct”.

Warning: Choking Hazard! Not suitable for children under 14 years of age or individuals who tend to place inedible objects in their mouths. Adult collectable - designed for static display - Not a toy.
