Seattle Model Aircraft 7CRON002
Seattle Model Aircraft 7CRON002 is a 1/400 scale diecast model of the Boeing 737-2L9/Advanced (-L9 is Boeing’s customer code for Maersk Air) registration C2-RN8, in Air Nauru’s livery, circa 1990.
Air Nauru
Air Nauru was the flag carrier airline of the Republic of Nauru. Formed in September 1969, it rebranded as Our Airline in October 2006 and Nauru Airlines in August 2014. It is currently owned by the Nauru Government.
The B737 is an American short—to medium-range twin-engined narrow-body airliner. The first flight (737-100) took place with Lufthansa on April 9, 1967, and it entered service on February 10, 1968. Thirty B737-100s were built before production ceased in favour of the 737-200.
The maiden flight of the 737-200 occurred on August 8, 1967, with the first delivery on December 29, 1967, to United Airlines. Variants were the 737-200C (Combi) and 737-200QC (Quick Change). USAF service designated them as the T-43 (navigation trainers) and CT-43 (passenger).
The -200 differs from the -100 with a 153 cm (60.2 in) longer fuselage, increased gross weight and range. In addition, the 737-200 Advanced had improved aerodynamics, more powerful engines, increased fuel capacity, gross weight and airframe components in graphite-epoxy composites.
The final 737-200 scheduled passenger service in the US occurred in 2008 with Aloha Airlines. One thousand one hundred fourteen airframes were completed before production ended in 1988.
The cockpit crew consists of two pilots, and the passenger cabin typically seats 110 in two classes, up to 130 in a single class. It used two Pratt & Whitney JT8D low-bypass turbofan engines, pylon-mounted one under each wing.
