Service Aérien Gouvernemental

The Service Aérien Gouvernemental (SAG), or Government Air Service, is an organisation established by the Quebec government in 1960. Its primary purpose is to manage and coordinate the air operations of various provincial ministries in Quebec. SAG plays a crucial role in several areas, including fighting forest fires, conducting emergency medical transport operations, and providing disaster relief.

In its firefighting capacity, SAG operates a fleet of 14 water bombers, which includes eight CL-415 aircraft, four CL-215Ps, and two CL-215Ts.

Canadair CL-415

The Canadair CL-415 “Super Scooper,” later known as the Bombardier 415 and the de Havilland Canada DHC-515, is a series of amphibious aerial firefighting aircraft that first flew on December 6, 1993 and entered service the following year. Initially built by Canadair, production later transitioned to Bombardier and then to De Havilland Canada.

The CL-415, based on the earlier CL-215, features upgraded engines, a modernised cockpit, and enhanced aerodynamics for improved performance. While primarily designed for aerial firefighting, the CL-415 can also perform various roles, including search and rescue operations and utility transport.

The CL-415 crew consists of two pilots and has a water capacity of 6,137 litres (1,621 US gallons) for waterbombing missions, or it can carry up to 2,903 kg (6,400 lbs) of cargo. Propulsion is by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW123AF turboprop engines, each driving a fully reversible and featherable four-bladed Hamilton Sundstrand propeller.

Warning: Choking Hazard! Not suitable for children under 14 years of age or individuals who tend to place inedible objects in their mouths. Adult collectable - designed for static display - Not a toy.
